Concerned Black Nurses of Newark, Inc. celebrated their 25th. Annual Scholarship and Awards Luncheon on May 19, 2007. Diana Johnson and Lynda Arnold from UMDNJ were CBNN's Scholarship Chairs. The event was held at the Hilton Newark Gateway. Six Financial Scholarships were given to the following nursing students: Jodice Stewart, Ani Sahagian, Jonathan Lomotey, Tynetta Eleazer, Marvin Watford and Cassandra Val. CBNN also recognized four outstanding dedicated and committed health care professionals in our community. The Nurse Leader Award was given to Nelson Tuazon, MAEd, MSN, MBA, RN, CNAA, FACHE, FNAP Senior Vice-President and Chief Nursing Officer at East Orange General Hospital. Diana Johnson, RN, MSN, CNA-BC. from University Hospital received the CBNN Nurse of the Year Award. Dr. Patricia Bennett of Northfield Podiatry received the Community Service Award along with Aviva Woog-Irvin from Amerigroup.
